This is a mounted Veracrypt volume that should show 1.86 GB and instead shows 1.75 GB. The other thing I noticed, is that, when copying some files over from an external drive, mounted without pre-boot authorisation, that the read speed on my encrypted drive was something like 50 MB/s at first, for a while, and then I noticed the speeds start to drop way down. Maybe that slows things down, too, with a sector size so small. I'm wondering if the sector size has to be 512 bytes, because after Veracrypt decrypts, the sector size is still 512 bytes instead of the default 4096 bytes. Since I have updated my system a lot, including the current bios update for Windows 11 compatibility, do I have the option of upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 with encrypted hard drives? I don't want to have to decrypt everything first and then encrypt everything again. Say my main hard drive and my second hard drive with PIM. I have fully encrypted my system, which is currently running Windows 10 Home Edition, with Veracrypt. Hello Dear Users, I'll write here and maybe. The only thread I could find is a discussion of VeraCrypt to offer a choice between a "hardened mode" and a "standard mode" for VeraCrypt during installation with "standard mode" being selected by default. I don't recall Mounir posting that he was going to make RAM encryption the default. Pretty sure I'm doing something wrong? Attached is my preference settings plus Truecrypt mode is ticked.ĭiscussion General I thought you were going to make encryption of keys in RAM enabled by default, seeing that Elcomsoft can just suck those keys right out of RAM. I've been meaning to migrate from Truecrypt for some time but I want timed auto-dismount. Sorry should have posted Win 10 21H1 and a shed load of RAM Pretty sure I'm doing something wrong? Attached is my preference settings plus Truecrypt mode is ticked. Sorry should have posted Veracrypt 1.25.7 on Win 10 21H1 and a shed load of RAM.
